Your character can be hurt.

Everyone needs to come to terms with that right now. Take your time. Okay, now that doesn’t mean that this is some wild free for all. Combat is TBL (one hit, one counter) – and it’s strictly enforced. If your character dies, you are encouraged to make another.
Get your thinking cap on because your character will be interacting with the enemy a lot, so you need to be creative. Not every interaction between citizens and slaves will be combat based.
There are no good guys. Take your time, this is important too. The Romans don’t believe they are wrong. Neither do the rebels.
You need to be comfortable playing on the forum. Large group scenes might start in a chat room but most will likely be moved to the forum for completion.
If there are more then three people posting in the chat, you may splice with our blessing.
Don’t bring your baggage to the moderators. We take no responsibility for your interaction with other players. If a problem arises, you should be prepared to work it out amongst yourselves. If things escalate to the point that a feud threatens to burn down AOL, we will step in and start booting.
If violence, nudity, profanity or other graphic content offends you, then this isn't the right SL for you.
Canon characters require more commitment than original characters. If you are not able to commit much time to the storyline, consider creating a custom character to play.
Canon characters will be reassigned if a player doesn't have the knowledge or time to play a canon effectively.
